Luxury Slow Boat from Thailand to Laos down Mekong River and Comparing with Regular Slow Boat

The slow boat is a well-traveled 2-day route down the Mekong river from Houayxay, Laos, which is just across the border from Chiang Khong in northern Thailand to Luang Prabang, Laos with an overnight stop in Pak Beng. Locals and budget-minded tourists do this trip on a public slow boat that costs about $14 USD. More luxurious slow boats are also available for a higher price. Chris and I choose to go with the luxury slow boat operator, Nagi of Mekong.
