At the start of the holidays, we're answering the question that's always being discussed whenever traffic on the highway comes to a standstill: What's the best way to get around a traffic jam? Take a detour? Drive into it? Drive at night? For this, we're sending three reporters to the same destination: Cologne - Cuxhaven. We're accompanying our colleagues on their journey by helicopter. We're also taking a look behind the scenes at the NRW Traffic Control Center and showing who monitors us all on the highways 24 hours a day and intervenes when dangerous situations arise. We'll also conduct a large-scale test to clarify how so-called phantom traffic jams repeatedly occur.
