Vivendo e aprendendo - Minha cirurgia refrativa

***UPDATE ON 01/29/24: Due to the exclusive (and consequently excessive) use of the contact lens in my right eye, which impairs lubrication and leaves the eye more vulnerable, in 2019 I had canaliculitis and had to undergo a canaliculotomy. But in the same year, we noticed sufficient stabilization of the cornea in the operated eye, the left, and I had a scraping surgery to reduce the scar and improve vision. It was VERY uncomfortable and in the first few months it didn't show much result, which made me think it wasn't worth it. But after 6 months the cornea started to improve a lot and, as the surgery reduced some of the myopia, the difference in prescription between the eyes decreased and I was able to wear glasses again! The left eye still has reduced vision due to the irregularity of the corneal surface, but today it is a very discreet sequela and no longer causes me significant harm (it's worse for driving at night and I have some visual aberrations when I look at lights, but it doesn't interfere with my life that much). I would have the option of operating on my right eye to try and not need glasses anymore (I still hate wearing them, oh my god) but I don't have the courage to do it knowing that my left eye has this problem. I can correct my right eye 100% with glasses or contact lenses, and combining the images from both eyes, life is going on normally, so I'll leave it alone.**** Hello, everyone! Today I decided to share a personal experience that taught me a lot. I hope you can learn from it without having to go through so much trouble! Even when the mistake is someone else's, if we are the victims, we need to protect ourselves. I learned the hard way and I hope to prevent you from going through this.
