Childish Gambino - Saturday (Guava Island)

Okay I can't believe this. So today's May 13th 2019. Over a year ago on May 5th 2018 Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino went on SNL and killed it by hosting the show and performing as the live musical guest. That was the night he officially premiered the songs Saturday and This Is America. This Is America went on to become a overnight success and a Grammy winning hit but Saturday did not and the only reason that is, is because Glover never released an official studio version. For some reason he took down both of his SNL music performances off of youtube. Up until now the only way we could listen to Saturday was through ripped audio from the SNL performance and tour videos uploaded by fans. There was never an official release though. That is until he released Guava Island on Amazon Prime. The version of Saturday in Guava Island is not an official studio version and he uses different instrumentation than the SNL performance but it's still bomb as hell and it's way better than nothing. I was really hoping that Gambino would release an official soundtrack or upload the clip to Youtube but, he never did. It's been a month since Guava Island's release on Amazon Prime and I've finally had enough. The people need this song. I took it upon myself to screen capture and upload this for the people. When I initially uploaded this video I was greeted by a fat copyright claim from Amazon but I disputed the claim and I won. I am overjoyed to say that this video is now public. It's a beautiful musical journey that captures the the beauty and authenticity of island life, while at the same time highlighting the power and impact that genuine music has on life and culture.
