A civil war is a terrible thing, when people from one country start killing each other. Brother fights brother. In Russia in 1918, the Civil War was triggered by tens of thousands of captured Czechs who, unable to be sent back directly through the German front, were sent through the east—after all, the world is round. Stretched along the Trans-Siberian Railway, the Czechs stirred things up. However, the true cause of the war was the struggle of the then oligarchs for power, for capital, for the tsar's gold, which, by order of the tsar, had been removed from Petrograd to Kazan back in 1915.
