Somewhere in Equestria... Rarity ventured beyond Ponyville in search of a rare and legendary material... silk said to be softer than her finest tapestries and smoother than any thread known to exist in around Equestria! They called it the Gossamer Web, woven by the Gossamer Spiders deep within the Everfree Forest. What Rarity didn’t know was that the moment she touched it, something ancient and unnatural stirred to life at the brush of equine fur and flesh. The fungal strands began to seep into her skin, sealing her orifices, dilating her eyes, and distorting her limbs into grotesque angles and lengths that were only seen as defects in regular equine organisms. And yet, what now lives inside her is far more terrifying than anything that shows on the surface only waiting long enough until her next victim approaches the blank, emotionless pony who was revered by all.
