A mother and daughter in Padang City, West Sumatra, are facing another police investigation after their gold necklace theft was captured on CCTV. The two perpetrators carried out their crime by pretending to be customers at a jewelry store in the Pasar Raya Padang area. While the store clerk was distracted, they quickly stole the three-gram gold necklace. Armed with CCTV footage and the victim's report, the Klewang Team from the Padang Police Criminal Investigation Unit acted swiftly and arrested the first perpetrator, Rima (30), in the Lolong Belanti area. Police then conducted further investigation and arrested Ida (66), Rima's mother, in the Kurao Pagang area. At the perpetrators' home, police found evidence of stolen gold stored in their bedroom. Investigations revealed that both perpetrators are repeat offenders who have been in and out of prison repeatedly for similar thefts.
