I Asked for this Electric Spray Gun… 6 Months Later, Inokraft Sent a Prototype

About six months ago, I tested an Inokraft pressurized electric spray gun on this channel. It sprayed surprisingly well, but at the end of that video, I said something directly to Inokraft: If you’re listening, you need to build a gravity-fed electric spray gun designed specifically for automotive painting. I explained exactly what I wanted to see — and six months later, I’m holding their prototype in my hands. In this video, I’m putting that prototype to a real test by painting a dark automotive hood, including metallic basecoat and clear coat, so we can actually see how the finish lays out, how the metallics behave, and where the gun performs well — and where it still needs improvement. This version of the Inokraft electric sprayer is a prototype, and the company is still working on improvements, including changes to the fan pattern. The gun shown in this video is not yet available for purchase, and this test reflects its performance at the time of filming. It’s human nature to compare this gun to a conventional HVLP spray gun — but that comparison isn’t really fair. This electric spray gun is not designed to replace a traditional air-powered gun. It’s designed as an alternative for painters, hobbyists, and DIYers who don’t have access to a compressor but still want a tool capable of spraying automotive paint.
