Viagem que é uma aventura, de MACAPÁ a SANTARÉM, de carro VIAGEM COMPLETA

A road trip from Macapá, the capital of the state of Amapá, to Santarém, in western Pará, on a super adventure in the Amazon. 📍It was 5 am when we left the center of Macapá for a true adventure. Departure from the capital of the state of Amapá towards Santarém, located in the western region of Pará. Right at the beginning of the trip we contacted the ferry captain, via WhatsApp, on the Paru River, in the municipality of Almeirim. This is a very important detail in planning our route. The first stage of the route is completed on BR 210, the so-called Northern Perimeter. The next phase, on BR 156, to point towards Laranjal do Jari, a municipality that borders the state of Pará. At 7:30 am we arrived at the village of Maracá, where we took the opportunity to have breakfast at the Carne de Sol Restaurant. They say that this place represents halfway from Macapá to Laranjal do Jari. We reached the city of Laranjal do Jari at 10:10 AM, after traveling 275 kilometers, giving us time to refuel the car with another 32 liters of fuel, filling the tank. The next step was to approach the banks of the Jari River, where there is a free ferry service. The crossing takes a maximum of 10 minutes. An important piece of information: on the other side of the river is the state of Pará. Therefore, the crossing marks the border. We left Laranjal at 11:10 AM, 1 hour after reaching the urban area. As soon as we left the ferry, we saw the first road sign. The information that we had 92 kilometers ahead gave us an idea of the distance, but nothing indicated the difficulties of the road, which appeared in the form of potholes and mud. But nothing prevented us from reaching the banks of the Paru River at 1:30 PM, having traveled 375 kilometers. Unfortunately, the ferry had already left. This mishap made us wait about an hour in the small community. Luckily, we had lunch at the house of Seu Raimundo, a grocery store owner, who sold us eggs and sardines. I made a scrambled egg dish there, including flour, which was palatable. We also had some slightly overcooked açaí, which we swallowed without complaint. The ferry arrived, and at 2:30 pm we began a one-hour journey towards the Acarapi River, in the community of Bom Futuro, in the municipality of Almeirim. The crossing cost 425 reais. For those who like to schedule the crossing, here is the contact for Commander Arara (Rio Paru): (96) 99202-0194. Another hour of navigation. We left the port on the other side of the river at 3:30 pm. Now, the journey takes place on PA 254, with better road conditions than the last 92 km. At 6:20 PM we passed through Vila Limão, a community in the municipality of Monte Alegre. A few kilometers later we reached PA 423, heading towards the city of Monte Alegre. We left PA 423 at 6:55 PM to take PA 255 for a longer stretch to the port of Santana do Tapará, after 643 kilometers. From Macapá to Santana do Tapará, 15 hours. We paid 126 reais for the ferry crossing. Trip costs: 90 liters of gasoline; Ferry crossing in Laranjal do Jari: free; 425.00: ferry crossing on the Paru River; 126.00: ferry crossing from Santana do Tapará to Santarém.
