Full interview: Why Jamie Edmonds is going public with her breast cancer diagnosis

Jamie Edmonds, a longtime weekend sports anchor at Local 4 and morning anchor at WJR 760, is currently undergoing treatment for triple negative breast cancer, a particularly aggressive form of the disease diagnosed just six months after a mammogram. Supported by her husband, daughter, and an outpouring of community encouragement -- including cards from the governor and messages from women inspired to get mammograms—Jamie has remained open about her journey, even starting a podcast to help others. Despite the challenges of chemotherapy, she continues to work when possible and maintains her family life, explaining her illness to her young daughter in honest, hopeful terms.
