Seeds of hope - Canadian Students Work Abroad Experience at the High Atlas Foundation in Morocco

We are three students from Algoma University - Omar, Kristen, and Linda - sharing our experiences working abroad at the High Atlas Foundation in Morocco. Omar, a business and accounting student, discusses how we're bringing Canadian business practices to the foundation while supporting youth development and financial literacy programs. Kristen, our sustainability intern, talks about our climate change initiatives, including tree nurseries and GIS mapping projects for sustainable crops like olives and argan oil. Linda, a psychology student, describes her work in the Women's Empowerment Unit, conducting qualitative research on topics like financial independence, psychological empowerment, and community resilience following the earthquake. Together, we're gaining new perspectives on different cultures while contributing to meaningful development work.
