We've got our hands on the new Mustang GT, and it's about to take on a BMW M2 Competition! On paper, these two cars look pretty evenly matched, but will that be the case on the quarter-mile? Let's take a closer look. Starting with the M2, it's powered by a 3-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine that can produce 480 hp and 600 Nm. Power is sent solely to the rear wheels, and the car weighs 1,805 kg. When new, an M2 Competition cost around £63,000. As for the Mustang, it's equipped with a 5-liter naturally aspirated V8 that sounds glorious. In the UK, the only Mustang available for purchase produces 453 hp and 540 Nm. However, we have a car imported from the US, which means the car we have here produces 486 hp and 567 Nm. Like the M2, power is sent only to the rear wheels, and the car weighs 1,738 kg. In the US, the Mustang costs $45,000, but if you want to buy one in the UK, the price rises to £55,700. So the Mustang has a bit more power, but the M2 has launch control! Will that be the deciding factor? There's only one way to find out... RACE! Instagram –   / carwow   Tiktok -   / carwow   Facebook –   / carwowuk   Twitter –   / carwowuk
