Giovanna's story begins with R$100 in her hands, an 8-year-old child, and a lesson from her father: buy cheap, sell for double. It was like that, going door-to-door selling costume jewelry in her neighborhood, that she discovered what would be the guiding thread of her entire life: the ability to connect with people. But the path to get here was anything but linear. The daughter of divorced parents, Giovanna changed schools 14 times, lived in three states, experienced two phases of emotional stuttering in childhood, assumed the role of mother to her siblings at age 12, and left home at 17 with 30 minutes to pack her bags. She arrived in São Paulo unemployed and without a support network, working in telemarketing, as a receptionist, and as a babysitter while paying for her journalism degree with an overdraft. She got into Globo through a selection process with 18,000 candidates for 11 positions, and left of her own accord when she realized that world didn't align with her values. From journalism to entrepreneurship, Giovanna built an entire career on one conviction: communication is not a gift, it's a technique. And those who don't stand out give space for someone less prepared to take their place.
