A tragic traffic accident in the El Porvenir neighborhood of Puerto Cortés has claimed the life of a two-year-old child. According to reports from the National Police, the driver of a pickup truck, believed to be the child's father, was arrested after allegedly running a red light and colliding with a passenger vehicle. The incident also left three other people injured. National Police spokesperson Alejandro Valladares reported that the detainee, a 63-year-old man, faces charges of manslaughter and reckless driving. Authorities have referred the case to the Public Prosecutor's Office for further legal proceedings.
