Wrocław. Zabytkowy Jelcz 080 wyremontowany i to jak!

A historic Jelcz 080 from 1980 has been restored in Wrocław, and in what style! It's one of only two such functional buses in Poland. See its transformation! This is what the bus looked like; it was neglected and dilapidated, and now it looks this way inside. The idea was simple: to bring Wrocław residents closer to history and transport them back 40 years. "The vehicle can be tiring to drive and requires attention. The steering wheel play is completely different, but it has its own atmosphere; it's like being transported back in time," says Adam Zylbertal, the initiator of the Jelcz 080 restoration project. "Our association acquired a unique set of these buses because this bus also has a trailer, and that's why we decided it was worth preserving and restoring," emphasizes Krzysztof Kołodziejczyk, Public Transport Enthusiasts' Club. The vehicle's trailer is the only one of its kind in Poland and is scheduled for restoration next year. The bus was disassembled, then reassembled and renovated, and now this historic landmark is fully operational. "We installed new sheet metal, it was painted, and as you can see, the seats and drivetrain were refurbished," adds Adam Zylbertal, the initiator of the Jelcz 080 restoration project. Interestingly, in those days, the engine in such Jelcz buses was located right next to the driver. The bus was previously used for social purposes, for example, transporting employees to work. The vehicle will be available for rent. It's possible that as early as next year, everyone will be able to take a ride in one of these Jelcz buses. "It will be available for rent for various occasions, and we hope to launch a tourist bus service in Wrocław, as our buses operated on such a service in Poznań this year," adds Krzysztof Kołodziejczyk, the Public Transport Enthusiasts' Club. The club hopes that such a tourist bus service will also be launched in Wrocław next year. The bus's style will delight many a car enthusiast, as it's a true gem from Wrocław.
