Renault 8 (1962-1976) : La fin du tout à l’arrière

The Renault 8 marked a turning point in the history of Renault. Launched in 1962 to succeed the Dauphine, it retained the rear-engine layout but introduced a radically new, more angular style, a departure from the 1950s. From its design, notably by Philippe Charbonnaux, to its technical evolutions, from its Major versions to the legendary Gordini, the Renault 8 established itself as a popular sedan… but also as a true sporting icon and a fantastic springboard for a whole generation of racing drivers. Produced in over 1.3 million units and sold worldwide, it also embodies the gradual end of a technical architecture soon to be superseded by more modern models like the Renault 12. 👍 If you enjoyed this video, please like, comment, and subscribe so you don't miss any future automotive stories. 🔵 Facebook:   / lescarnetsdelautomobile   🎵 TikTok:   / lescarnetsdelautomobiles   📸 Instagram:   / les_carnets_de_lautomobile   🎧 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/lescarn... 🖼️ Ayrton Senna Poster: https://lafficheur-francais.fr/produc... 📘 Find our "Les Carnets de l’Automobile" books on Amazon : https://www.amazon.fr/s?k=les+carnets...
