The Simple Formula to Fix Picky Eating

So who should eat with the child? Here’s what I’ve seen work beautifully, time and again — in the families I’ve worked with and in my own home: ➡️ The best person to eat with your child… is the family. That doesn’t mean everyone has to sit down together for every meal, but shared mealtimes — even once a day — are powerful. 1. If you’re in a bigger family: It’s wonderful if everyone can eat together. Yes, it might be a little loud or distracting — but children love the energy, the connection, and the modeling that happens at the table. 2. If you’re in a nuclear family: Try to eat at least one meal a day together — both parents at the table. No rush. No pressure. No screens. That one meal will become your child’s safest, most loved food experience, as long as the parents are calm and regulated. Because when you’re relaxed, your child feels it.And that’s when picky eating starts to shift — not because the food changed, but because the environment did.
