A brief, never-before-seen video recorded in Playa de San Juan shortly after the construction of its "Pagoda", officially the La Rotonda development. We will be able to see the landscaping that surrounded this unique building at the time of its construction, and see how in the nearby area buildings were already being built that are now familiar to all of us who frequent this beach in summer. We will also approach Alicante's La Cantera neighbourhood to briefly peruse the area in front of its massive Gafner-Mariola building. Finally, the lens moves along the coast in the direction of Villajoyosa, showing large areas of what was still undeveloped, vacant land. In short, an urban landscape that today is both familiar and strange at the same time, in a carefully restored 8mm recording, upscaled to 4k with sound editing and some period-appropriate background music.
