Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated again following a new episode of confrontation in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the main maritime routes for the global transport of oil. US President Donald Trump stated that he did not appreciate the Iranian drone attack against a cargo ship and described the action as a "stupid violation" of the ceasefire. When asked how he would respond to the incident, Trump avoided giving details and simply stated: "You'll see." Hours later, the US Central Command (Centcom) announced a military operation against Iranian targets. According to the US military, missile and drone depots were bombed, as well as coastal radars used by Iranian forces. In a statement released on the social network X, Centcom stated that the offensive was a response to the attack against a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz and described the Iranian action as a clear violation of the ceasefire.
