Evitem estas BURLAS no Senegal 🇸🇳

Today I left the big city of Dakar and headed to Saly, 80km further south in Senegal. This turned out to be my second biggest "travel" adventure, the first being traveling to Senegal. First step: take a 7-seater bus (the most economical) to cover those 80km from the huge bus station, Gare des Baux Maraîchers, simply brutal because of the sheer number of vehicles parked there. From there, you can take all kinds of transport to the interior of Senegal. In fact, the transport doesn't go all the way to Saly, dropping us off in Mbour (5 km from Saly). It was this change of plans that made this trip remarkable. First, I had to find a hotel to stay in Mbour, where I had to deal with what I consider to be the biggest problem for a tourist in Senegal: there are no agreed-upon prices; all prices are subject to change, even when there is an agreement. I got into a taxi where the agreed fare was 2000 CFA, but as soon as the car started moving it went up to 12000 CFA, and that's when another adventure began: getting to the hotel!!!! And the hotel was worth all the effort. #senegal #mbour
