Underwood Food Company(1822) - Deviled Ham -TASTE THE HISTORY
The Underwood Food Company was founded in Boston by William Underwood in 1822. They originally packaged condiments like mustard and ketchup in glass bottles, but quickly moved to canning pickled vegetables and persevere fruits. They eventually found their niche in 1898 when they first began canning spiced meats. Since they they have been a pioneer in the food science and food preservation fields even partnering with MIT to develop and implement new ways to preserve food. With a rich history in The United States for just shy of 2 centuries, the question remains.. What products does Underwood still make today, and Most important.. HOW DO THEY TASTE? We got our hand on a tiny can that you have likely walked past 100 times in the grocery store and never given much thought to. Maybe you will remember it from your childhood. I am talking about the famous Deviled Ham.
