Women in the Blue Economy - MSF 2026

In this forum, we explored the role of women in the blue economy, both in Malta and across the wider European context. Drawing on insights and real-world experiences, we examined the opportunities and challenges women encountered across the blue economy, spanning areas such as maritime transport, innovation, and the circular use of marine resources. We also reflected on the structural and cultural barriers that continued to shape participation, entrepreneurship, and leadership in these fields. Ultimately, we considered how greater inclusion could be fostered, untapped potential unlocked, and a more sustainable, innovative, and equitable blue economy supported for all.
