This is a travel video from my first trip to the Yaeyama Islands this year, a 6-night, 7-day trip (May 19-25, 2026). (One night each way to Ishigaki Island, and four nights on Iriomote Island) This video covers my first day, staying overnight on Ishigaki Island before heading to Iriomote Island the next day. It's been six months since I was last in Yaeyama. As soon as I arrived at Ishigaki Airport, I felt myself being healed by the Yaeyama air. My accommodation this time was the Sakishima Business Hotel. I like this hotel because it's close to the Southern Gate Bridge, which I love. It includes a light breakfast and is reasonably priced. And best of all, you can watch a beautiful sunset from the Southern Gate Bridge right in front of the hotel. Although my stay on Ishigaki Island was short, watching the beautiful sunset made my first day in Yaeyama very fulfilling. I'll have to try again at Gala!
