His Majesty King Charles III is welcomed to Balmoral Castle and Estate in Deeside, Scotland, for his summer residence on Monday 18th August 2025. Greeting him was Alexander (Sandy) Manson, His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Aberdeenshire, here with his wife. The Royal Guard from Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, 5 SCOTS, were under the command of Major Tommy Blair MBE and were lined up ready for inspection by His Majesty the King. With them was the royal favourite, Shetland pony, Corporal Cruachan IV, mascot of The Royal Regiment of Scotland. The band consisted of members of The Highlanders of 4 SCOTS Pipes and Drums, Black Watch 3 SCOTS Pipes & Drums and The Royal Highland Fusiliers 2 SCOTS Pipes and Drums. The King too time to chat to many of the soldiers present and also with members of the public who had gathered at the Gates of Balmoral Estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. #balmoralcastle #balaklavacompany #royalguard #royalregimentofscotland #scotland
