100 more screenings of Dear You in Teochew approved; Singapore reviewing dialect content guidelines
Another 100 film screenings of the Teochew version of Dear You have been approved. This comes as authorities in Singapore are reviewing the current guidelines for films with dialect content. The China-made film with predominantly Teochew dialogue had brought to life a past familiar to older Singaporean Chinese and sparked a debate about dialects' place in the cinema. Nicolas Ng reports.
