We will examine the prerequisites of parametric tests, such as equal variances and normal distribution of the dependent variable. To do this, we will learn what a desired hypothesis is and how to test these prerequisites graphically or with statistical tests. Keywords: Shapiro-Wilk, rain cloud plot, Levene. If these prerequisites are violated, we can then resort to non-parametric tests or corrections. Keywords: Welch, bootstrapping, and Mann-Whitney U. We will practice all of this again in JASP using the example of the t-test for independent samples.
