Goodbye to lollipop trees, with these killer watercolour tips!

As a #watercolour artist my aim is to improve on painting subjects that are usually presented within #landscape scenes and one of the things that I’ve recently been focusing on is trees! So I hope you join me on this video to find tips and tricks that I’ve discovered along my journey of improvement! Don’t you think trees are a fascinating object to capture on paper, whatever the medium, and a great thing is there is an abundance of trees probably not far from your own doorstep wherever you are in the world! Meaning you don’t even need to travel for miles to come up with a painting idea! I’m using my seawhites of Brighton sketchbook along with my wonderful White Nights watercolour paints, and not to forget my fineliner pens for crispy details, perfect combination for more realistic looking trees! Hope you find this video useful and happy painting my friends 🙋‍♂️ —————- 00:00 - 00:09 In this video! 00:09 - 00:36 How many species of trees? 00:36 - 01:56 Lillipop trees 🌳 01:56 - 02:57 It doesn’t have to be perfect 02:57 - 03:40 First wash Yellow ochre! 03:40 - 05:51 Wet on wet technique 05:51 - 07:47 Using thicker paint for darker tones! 07:47 - 08:32 Light and dark paint! 08:32 - 09:02 Painting conifer bushes/ trees 09:02 - 10:59 Adding pen details! 10:59 - 13:38 Final details! 13:38 - 13:58 Thanks for watching! ———————-
