In conversation with... Ian McKellen and Waris Hussein on A Touch of Love | BFI
Director Waris Hussein and Ian McKellen visited the BFI Southbank to talk about A Touch of Love, their 1967 debut feature film, which starred Sandy Dennis as a shy academic working at the British Museum, who falls accidently pregnant after a brief affair with a newsreader (McKellen). The pair discuss their time together at Cambridge University (along with the film's screenwriter, Margaret Drabble) and what it was like being gay in the 60s.
