xTool Studio 1.7 Update: Game Changer or Waste of Time?

Testing out the new xTool Creative Space 1.7 update to see if the new features actually save time in the shop, or just add more steps. We are diving into curve text placement, custom line density, and manual tabs. xTool just dropped the Studio 1.7 patch, and instead of reading release notes line by line, I wanted to put the main features to a practical test. Some updates—like manual tab editing and resizing the toolbar panels—are great quality-of-life improvements for smaller screens. However, trying to get text to flip properly on the bottom of a circular design sent me straight into a frustrating workaround with extra circles and offsets. We also look at the new excess file format and a major backward-compatibility hitch you need to watch out for if you design and run your laser on different computers. If you use xTool lasers and want to know how this software update handles real-world shop tasks, let’s get into it!
