2002 High School Football: Class 'AA' Region Finals - BREATHITT CO. vs BELFRY

November 22, 2002 -- The Breathitt County Bobcats travel to the venerable Vipperman Stadium for a Class 2A region title tilt with the Belfry Pirates in what turned to be one of the muddiest games in recorded history at WYMT. It had rained more than two inches in the days leading up to the Class 2A region final which turned Vipperman, literally, into 120 yards of mud, mud, and more mud. Breathitt County entered a perfect 12-0 with Belfry at 10-2. These two championship programs had battled it out from 1999-2001 giving fans three playoff classics: 1999: Breathitt County wins at Vipperman Stadium 47-42 2000: Breathitt County wins in Jackson 28-20 2001: Belfry wins at Holcomb Stadium 27-26
