Telling Tales: Intertextuality in Urban Legend (Dr Steve Jones)

Dr Steve Jones argues that Urban Legend has been unfairly dismissed as a “Scream knock off”. The film makes an important contribution to the postmodern slasher phase by telling a story about the powers of storytelling. From that perspective, Urban Legend offers a more sophisticated take on intertextuality than most other slasher films of the period.
