Building a Log Cabin: Limbing Trees Properly with my Apprentice

Welcome back to the cabin! In this video I'm working around the homestead with my apprentice Anthony; moving sand for better drainage and flower beds around the cabin. You can hear the little tractor in the background doing its thing. Later I head into the bush for some logging and share a very important safety lesson after Anthony told me about a close call he had while limbing. If you're using a chainsaw to limb trees (or even an axe), this could save you from a serious injury. Key safety tip: Always limb on the OPPOSITE side of the trunk so the log rolls away from you, never toward you. Never straddle the log. Keep your legs clear and stay on the safe side. Also showing real examples of how a log can roll when you remove branches and why proper technique matters. Stay safe out there! #SelfReliance #ChainsawSafety #Homesteading #LogCabin #OffGridLiving #Bushcraft Timestamps: 0:00 - Cabin work & sand pit with Anthony 1:28 - Heading into the bush for logging 2:56 - Apprentice safety story 3:45 - Proper limbing technique demonstration 6:00 - Final safety reminders Thanks for watching!
