ProCharged Challenger SRT8 Makes 690WHP | Final Engine Assembly & Dyno

Episode 5 of the Challenger SRT8 build is where everything starts coming together. After the bottom end was assembled in Episode 4, the team moves into camshaft install, VVT delete, lifters, cylinder heads, pushrod length checks, upgraded valvetrain parts, front timing, oil pan, rear seal adapter, clutch install, engine install, ProCharger setup, intercooler and charge piping, coil covers, final assembly, and dyno tuning. This HEMI gets a Texas Speed camshaft, Texas Speed lifters, VVT delete, Manley pushrods, Texas Speed valvetrain stabilizers, upgraded valve springs, an ATI balancer, MSD coils, a Cloud Racing RXT twin disc clutch, custom hydro-dipped coil covers from Liquid Venom Hydrographics, and the ProCharger system that brings the whole build to life. Getting the engine back in the car with the headers on was tight, but the team made it happen. From there, the accessories, plugs, coils, radiator relocation, intercooler, charge piping, fascia trimming, and final hookup work brought the Challenger back to looking like a car again. Then it hit the dyno. The first pulls came in around 550 horsepower to the rear wheels with timing pulled out. After tuning, the Challenger finished at 690 horsepower and 654 foot-pounds of torque to the rear wheels. That is where the team decided to leave it for now. The car was running out of boost, peaking around 11 pounds at 6,500 RPM, so the plan is to bring it back in the winter, install a smaller pulley, and turn it up a little more. For now, the customer gets to enjoy the car while the weather is finally here. This Challenger SRT8 build went from engine teardown, to forged bottom end, to cam and top-end assembly, to ProCharger install, to dyno results. Episode 5 is the payoff.
