Join me on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset to explore one of the more famous abandoned coastal quarries. This spot isn't just about dramatic cliffs and gorgeous views (though they help!) it's a place where geology and history come together. In this video, we'll look at: How the local rocks formed and what they reveal about Dorset's past A few leftover things we can see from quarrying activities The unusual tidal pool and how it got here Fossils we can find in the rock beds and loose stone Whether you're curious about geology, coastal landscapes, or the history of Dorset, this short and sweet dive (or belly flop in my case lol!) into an abandoned quarry shows how people and rocks have shaped the coastline we see today!
