My first INJURY: can I still run? I FINAL RACE DECISION I Road to Aruba Marathon 🇦🇼

how you handle the setbacks defines your progress. 🤝 these weeks back on the island of the road to the aruba marathon didn't go as planned due to my first real injury scare. when you are deep into marathon preparation, an injury scare can feel incredibly frustrating. but instead of completely pausing, we shifted the focus to an active, structured rehab. here is a look at what the exact rebuild process looked like: zone 2 treadmill intervals: moving indoors to the air conditioning allowed me to keep my heart rate strictly under control & execute a safe mix of running & walking. specific calf loading & mobility: we combined calf raises & balancing on the ball with targeted hip mobility routines to protect the joints & support the lower leg. expert physio work: from sports taping to prevent my ankle from collapsing inward, to incredibly painful but necessary trigger point therapy to finally release the deep muscle tension. it’s absolutely crazy how fast the body can adapt & rebuild when you give it the right support - CONSISTENCY ALWAYS PAYS OFF. so seeing my body recover well enough to hit a 5-minute pace again was a huge milestone. but with the race just around the corner, a final choice had to be made… 🏁 🤞🏼let’s connect: have you ever had to deal with an injury right before a big race? how did you handle the mental setback? let me know in the comments below! #marathon #hybridathlete #travel #ironmantraining #heattraining #endurancetraining #aruba #marathontraining #running #mindset #discipline #injury #injuryrecovery #roadtomarathon #halfmarathon #halfmarathontraining #roadtohalfmarathon
