The machine made a sound that she could only describe as laughing. Then a man in a full pharaoh costume appeared beside her from absolutely nowhere and told her she needed to bet the maximum or the machine would never respect her. Kayla turned to tell him that was insane but he was already gone and an elderly woman in his place was nodding very seriously like she had witnessed this exact speech before. Kayla maxed out her bet with the last forty dollars in her wallet, which was also her airport sandwich money. The reels spun. All three landed on Cleopatra.
