Snow expected !! Class 08 Brings Network Rail Snowploughs into Wolverton going be a cold summer

A rare winter-prep movement at Wolverton! . A pair of Network Rail ZZA snowploughs made their way to Wolverton depot today (24/07/25), arriving earlier in the day behind two Class 37 locomotives. By the time we arrived, the heavy haulage was misssed as they failed to go as far as Wolverton but we were lucky enough to film the depot arrival as an 08 shunter took over for the final move. From the headshunt, the Class 08 eases the bright yellow ploughs into the yard, ready for inspection and storage. These distinctive ZZA ploughs are vital in keeping the rail network moving during heavy snow, and it’s always a treat to see them up close in the summer months, far from their winter duties.
