How Is The New Cape Fear Going To Be Different From The Original Ones?

I know the first thing that pops into our minds when we hear Cape Fear is Robert De Niro’s tattooed body and the way he would light up a cigar. But interestingly, Cape Fear’s journey as one of the best psychological thrillers started way back. First, we had the novel by John D. MacDonald, published in 1957 under the title The Executioners. The basic crux of the story was the same. A convicted sexual assaulter, Max Cady, seeking revenge on his attorney, Sam Bowden, after he spent fourteen years in prison. This book inspired two movies. One released in 1962 starring Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum in the leading roles, and two, the 1991 Scorsese directorial. Most viewers are way more familiar with De Niro’s villainous version, and the hype around the movie was real. #CapeFear #RobertDeNiro #GregoryPeck #MartinScorsese #robertmitchum
