Night Photography - Looking at four photographers
THIS VIDEO: Photographing at night isn’t new – Alfred Steeglitz was doing it over 100 years ago and Todd Hido is doing it today. Night photography produces challenges that are not present while working during the day – but it also offers up opportunities for creating otherworldly images because of the artificial light source. Photography is dependent on the camera which allows one only three options for adjusting the light falling on the sensor or film surface – to increase the light we can increase shutter speeds, open up apertures and to a limited extent – adjust asa or in the case of analogue – vary the film speed.
