JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - A fire broke out in a densely populated residential area in Kemayoran Gempol behind Jiung Market, Kebon Kosong Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Monday evening (June 1, 2026). Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze after approximately seven hours. Topan, a local resident, said the fire started in a house. "The house, because it's the back, the back part. Meanwhile, the Director General of Regional Administration Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Safrizal ZA, said the fire was suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
