She is over 80 years old and has an unforgiving memory. In 1949, Tecla Cemîrtan was only seven years old when she was picked up by Soviet soldiers and sent to Siberia, along with her family. All along the path of humiliation, in freight cars, they endured thirst, hunger and mockery. From the Soviet military car, together with the others, they were put on a train at the station in Şoldănești. Two weeks of nightmare followed, in inhuman conditions. Their family's drama is all the more shocking, since they were sent to Siberia instead of others, who had given money to escape.
