Lexus GS300h review. Is this better than the 5 series BMW?

In this review we find out how the Lexus GS300h compares with its European counterparts, which include the bmw 5 series, Mercedes E class and Audi A6. This is a 2015 Lexus GS300h and they are actually pretty hard to find here in Australia. I had a look recently on several car sale websites and could not even find one for sale. The Lexus GS range consists of 5 models the GS250, 300h, 350, 450h and ISF. Buyers had a choice of 3 versions in each model which include the sport, sport Luxury and F sport. The GS300h I am reviewing is a hybrid hence the h in the naming. The GS300h is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that is coupled to an electric motor. Despite its larger size, it’s essentially a bigger brother of the Toyota Prius engine. With engine and motor working together, it delivers 164kW of power. On its own the electric motor has 105kW, but it’s not as simple as adding the two power and torque figures together for a combined output. Lexus therefore only quotes that the petrol engine pumps out 221Nm of torque and the electric motor assists with 300Nm more.
