The Gorkha Rangamancha Bhawan , popularly known as Bhanu Bhawan, is a prominent cultural and administrative landmark located in Darjeeling, West Bengal. Situated near the Chowrasta (The Mall) and in front of St. Andrew's Church, it serves as a central hub for the cultural heritage of the Gorkha community.  Key Features & Functions Cultural Hub: The Bhawan is a premier venue for literary events, cultural programs, exhibitions, and musical performances. It houses two auditoriums, a recording room, and office spaces. Symbol of Identity: Named after Bhanubhakta Acharya, the first Nepali poet to translate the Ramayana, it stands as a tribute to his contributions to Gorkha identity and creativity. Architectural Landmark: An imposing four-storey structure resembling an opera house, it features a statue of Goddess Saraswati at the front gate and a statue of a Gorkha soldier on its grounds. Reopening & Governance: Managed by the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), the building was reopened to the public in October 2020 after being closed during political agitations. Community Events: In December 2025, the venue hosted a major felicitation ceremony for the iconic Gorkha rock band Mantra to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
