Zaanse Schans
Zaanse Schans is a historic windmill village on the Zaan river. Located about 12 miles Northwest of Amsterdam these windmills were originally constructed in the 18th and 19th century. 3 of the windmills are still operating and used for cutting wood, making oil from seed and grinding wheat into flour. There are 12 different kinds of wood in the original build of these windmills.
