The moment the garlic bossam was placed on the table, Ayako and I were left speechless. The overwhelming visual of the garlic sauce piled high like a small mountain! I even burst out laughing at Ayako’s surprised reaction, asking, “Is this all garlic?” But this was just the beginning. We had only ordered Bossam, but Ayako kept exclaiming, "This is unbelievable!" at the overflowing generosity of this place, where soft tofu stew, chive and squid pancakes, and even spicy stir-fried squid were served as complimentary side dishes. She said it was something unimaginable in Japan. One bite of the tenderly boiled meat topped with a generous amount of sweet and pungent garlic sauce, and another bite with freshly made fresh kimchi and crunchy dried radish strips! With a refreshing glass of Makgeolli to go with it, it was truly heaven on earth. In particular, the combination of Bossam and stir-fried squid—this restaurant's unique stroke of genius—was a whole new world. I don't know how many times we clinked our glasses at the fantastic harmony of the savory Bossam and the spicy squid. "I really love Korea because I can feel the warmth between the people."
