The Cigar Table | What To Do When You Don’t Like a Cigar | Bad Cigar or Bad Fit?

In this video, I talk about what to do when you light up a cigar and realize pretty quickly that it’s just not in your wheelhouse. Do you toss it? Do you power through it? Do you chalk it up as a bad cigar and move on? That depends. My personal approach is a little different. If I paid good money for the cigar and I’m trying to learn something from it, I usually smoke it through and start breaking down why I’m not enjoying it. Is it the flavor profile? Is it the airflow? Is it the burn? Is it the construction? Is it the blend itself? Or is it just a cigar that doesn’t fit my palate? In this episode, I talk about how I handle cigars that don’t immediately click with me, how I log my notes, why I keep the band, and why I think it’s worth understanding the difference between a bad cigar and a bad fit. Not every cigar you dislike is a bad cigar. Sometimes it’s just not your style. But if you pay attention, even a cigar you don’t love can still teach you something.
