"Owari Naki Koe" is an independently produced short film that was released in Miyazaki Prefecture on March 31st, 2023. It tells a realistic story about prejudice, lack of understanding, and indifference towards people with hearing impairments. The director is Morita Hiroshi, a resident of Miyakonojo City who was deaf from birth. Many of the other lead actors, cast members, and staff were also deaf people from the prefecture, and the film was made with help from others. The film is set in Miyazaki Prefecture during the Showa era, when prejudice against deaf people was still strong. This film takes a close look behind the scenes of the production of this film, which is based on a true story.
