In this episode of "Listen to the Neyden," Ömer Tuğrul İnançer primarily discussed the following: "The blessed time is for good, good things prevail, evil things recede... As you know, there is an institution, a concept called self-discipline." This refers to the "nefs-i ammara" (commanding soul) that commands one to do evil and, as described in the Surah Yusuf, subjugates one to its own command and will. Then, with the mind, thoughts, feelings, and intuition bestowed by God, the self-centered soul perceives that obeying every command of that commanding soul is wrong, and so it says, "Oh, we didn't do it well." The commanding self, on the one hand, issues commands, while the levvame side replies, saying, "You did wrong, you didn't do it well." Meanwhile, another level of the self begins to inspire you to do something so well instead of so badly, becoming the inspired self. The good deeds performed through the inspiration of this inspired self evoke satisfaction, trust, and fulfillment, becoming the mutmainne self. Then, taking in a breath is a blessing, and giving it out is a blessing. We so easily complain about not being able to breathe, since we've never tried to exhale... Let's try. Take in your breath, don't exhale. Let's see how long you can hold it... Rest assured, it's shorter than the time it takes to hold your breath. You will definitely exhale. In other words, you can't even take a breath without first exhaling... God grants blessings. Our speech, our meetings, these opportunities, technological possibilities—all of these are blessings, and when used correctly and in the direction they command, they illuminate both our world and the afterlife. When used incorrectly, in the opposite direction, they darken. Saying "yes" to these blessings without turning up our noses, wishing they weren't so, is the act of being content, that is, being content, and the expression we frequently use, "May Allah be pleased with them," is called the "nefs-i mardıyye" (nefs-i mardıyye). I ask: Are we so pleased with Allah that He should be pleased with us? Have I presented it?... Therefore, the slogan "May Allah be pleased with them" shouldn't be used as a cheap slogan. First, we must learn to be pleased with Allah. Being pleased with God isn't as easy as we think, and the prayer "May God be pleased with you," which we often use as a slogan and a very simple one, isn't a prayer that can be oversimplified...
