Furniture Is Not An Investment
Welcome back to My Swiss Home! 🤍 On this channel, I share what everyday life in Switzerland really looks like and how we are building a home and a life here over time. In this video, I talk about something that completely changed the way I think about furnishing a home: the idea that furniture is not an investment. When you move into a new home, it is easy to feel pressure to have everything finished immediately. Social media certainly does not help. We are constantly surrounded by beautifully curated spaces, home updates, and new purchases, which can make it feel like a home should be completed within a few months. But the reality is that the most interesting homes are usually built slowly over many years. They evolve as the people living in them evolve. I share some of my own experiences since moving into our house, including how creating content about our home sometimes made me feel pressure to always have something new to show. Over time, I realized that approach was neither realistic nor sustainable, and that building a home is much more about patience, intention, and living with a space before constantly changing it. This video is about resisting the urge for immediate gratification, making thoughtful decisions, and allowing your home to develop naturally over time. #switzerland #personalfinance #financialfreedom #livinginswitzerland #myswisshome #homeownership #slowliving #homedesign #intentionalliving
