On December 14, 2025, the Egúngún Festival was celebrated by the Bankole Aberejo Family, a sub-branch of the Akinogun Royal Family. The Egúngún Festival represents unity and togetherness and is deeply honored within the family. Relatives from different locations, including Orile Agege and Ilogbo, return home to celebrate collectively. While Christmas and Salah may not be celebrated in one accord, the Egúngún Festival remains the cultural event that truly unites the family reconnecting them to their roots, lineage, and shared ancestral identity.
